THE PROBLEMS
INSTITUTIONALIZED VOTER SUPPRESSION
The Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, allowing states to suppress the vote of diverse communities.
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
The Trump Administration has weaponized all levels of the federal bureaucracy to attack voting rights.
UNPRECEDENTED PRO-BONO WORK
Firms have committed more than $1B in pro bono services to causes that directly align with the current administration’s goals.
THE CONSERVATIVE ECOSYSTEM
Insufficient investments in state judicial races have resulted in a significant imbalance of power. 32 states have a conservative majority on the Supreme Court. 17 of those states have no progressive Justices, most of which are located in the South. Progressives are over a decade behind conservative efforts, resulting in a solid conservative donor base and majority control in a number of states.
GAPS IN THE ECOSYSTEM
Several non-profit organizations focus on various types of advocacy, but most are not geared towards training & organizing community-based attorneys & grassroots activists.
